Hello Worlds!

This is Josh Karpel's personal website.

This site has my idle thoughts and my non-idle thoughts. It also has links to various small JavaScript toys that I've written. If you want my non-web-based toys, see my GitHub profile.

Links to my other embodiments on the internet are in the top right corner (or in the nav menu, if you're on a small screen).

I am currently a Software Engineer in Machine Learning at Workday. I design and develop systems for connecting ML predictions to the outside world.

Before that, I was a postdoc at the Morgridge Institute for Research in the Center for High Throughput Computing. I worked on high-throughput machine learning and image processing projects, as well as Python-based tools for interacting with HTCondor, like HTMap.

Before that, I got a Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in the Yavuz Group in December 2019. I worked on simulating non-linear coupled quantum-optical systems, leveraging high-throughput computing to perform huge parameter scans.
